The photo is of his Grandfather's tavern (Nic's Tavern) taken in 1940.
His grandfather, Nic VanHanxleden Sr, is pictured behind the bar.
The gentleman in front of the bar is Nic Jr.
Bartender is unidentified.
This was a Budweiser tavern, located just south of the State theater.
For historical note, Hank's dad ran the Parkway and Roseland Theaters in the late 1920's and 1930's.
He also was instrumental in the Roseland Recreation Billiard Parlor located on the avenue.
